Pony saddle fit is one of the most commonly overlooked areas of horse welfare. It is easy to assume that because a pony is small, the consequences of a poorly fitting saddle are smaller too. They are not.
Ponies carry proportionally significant rider weight and are often ridden by developing riders who benefit enormously from a saddle that positions them correctly. Getting pony saddle fit right matters for the pony, and for the rider learning on them. The adjustable gullet system for ponies
Ponies change shape considerably as they age, come in and out of work, and as the seasons change. A pony saddle with an adjustable gullet pony saddle system means you are not constantly buying replacements as your pony develops. Change the gullet bar to suit them where they are now.

Pony saddles start from a 15 inch seat, smaller than the sizes used for our full-size horse saddles. The right size depends on your pony's build and your rider's height and stage of riding, so it is worth speaking to one of our approved saddle fitters rather than working from a size chart alone.
Yes. Every Cavaletti Collection saddle uses an interchangeable gullet system with six width options, so you can change the gullet bar as your pony's shape changes instead of buying a new saddle each time they grow or come in and out of work.
It's built on a smaller tree to suit a shorter, often rounder back, with seat sizes starting from 15 inches. Beyond size, the same rules apply across our full saddle range: even weight distribution, a gullet width that clears the spine, and a fit that lets the pony move freely.
Often, yes, given how quickly ponies grow out of a saddle. Our graded used saddle range is checked before it leaves us, which gives parents and yard owners a more affordable route through a stage that does not last long.

It depends on what you mostly do. A dressage saddle suits flatwork and a deeper seat, a jump saddle has a more forward flap for hacking and jumping, and a GP saddle sits between the two for riders who do a bit of everything. For the show ring, the show saddle is cut for more traditional turnout.
